Hi all, I made my first little app called KissTheDog for iOS and Android using libGDX and of course, a whole bunch of Spine! It's a fairly simple app that randomly generates dogs, and is the result of me learning and playing around with Spine, trying to create randomly generated skins at runtime.
In KissTheDog, every time you kiss the dog, a new skin is generated. Generally speaking: what happens behind the scenes is every slot in the new skeleton pulls a random slot attachment from a set of skins, and for each of those slots, a new colour is assigned. Lastly, an animation is randomly selected and assigned to our new skeleton and voila - a new random doggo! At the moment, there are about 10^17 possible dogs, and this doesn't include colour variations or possible animations.
It was quite the learning experience and my conclusion from this little app is that Spine is a dream to work with! Thanks for making such a great tool for 2D animation. I it so much.
I have a few promo codes I'd be glad to give away. Just send me a PM and tell me if it's for iOS or Android. First come first serve!
