Could you please try if it works when you add one of the Spine Example characters (e.g. Spineboy) to the scene with any starting animation set under Animation Name? You could also try to build an executable with one of the Spine Examples/Getting Started scenes. If this plays correctly, then the cause of the problem lies most likely in your code.
