I don't really know what animations are you thinking to your games but, I think that you have a few mistakes in your character images. Maybe the "neck" should be rounded -Your body could give you problems in "rotated head" animations-, and the "back-Hand" should be a mirror version of the "front hand" to make good walk cycles.
Has you played Tiny Thief? It is a mobile game. Wathching your character design, I think that this game should be a good inspiration window for your game!

Thanks JuanluGC, I've just read up a few of your posts about the intergalactic trashman - and I have to say its looking awesome! Especially liking the electrocuted character animation haha.
How long have you guys been working on it?
I had wondered about the left arm, I had originally drawn the character as a single layered item, so when splitting the drawing apart I just left it until I saw what animating would be like, realistically I should give it the option to have the movement exaggerated (as shiu said in his post) but I can always go back and play with the png haha. For the neck (or lack there of lol) do you mean it should be rounded towards the top (i.e an arch?) or that my bowl like shape isn't right?
Tiny thief is actually a game I am familiar with, my gameplay was originally going to be similar, but when they released tiny thief, I realised that although fun - it's incredibly slow paced. The environment I'm hoping will be similar though, certainly going to have the same sort of "from a distance" style 2D perspective.
