I recently worked on a project. While doing, I hit ctrl S regularly. When finished I hit save last time and closed (Spine didn't ask me if I wanted to discard or save change, hence logically it was saved). However, when I reopened the project, the Spine file was not modified at all. That was so so frustrating.
Is there any bug of saving process, and how can I find that old project. :tear:
Thank you in advance.
Spine Save doesn't really work
- Edited
That is very odd, we've never seen it happen. Could it be that Spine saved it to a different place than you expected?
Spine saves a copy of the project in your Spine backup folder every time it saves and also (by default) every 15 minutes. You could look there to see if you can recover your work. You can find a button to take you to the backup folder on the Settings dialog, under Files.
Thank you for the help, I will check it soon for right now I don't have that laptop by my side.
I also checked some places but not the one you mentioned, the backup folder. However, if I overwrite that old spine project, will the backup file be deleted?
Fortunately, the backup folder is in a different place than where you save your project, and each project that is saved in that folder has a timestamp in the name so it is not overwritten by new backups. You can find the Backup folder through your Spine settings, here:
Settings - Spine User Guide: Backups
I checked the backup folder, but there is not backup file in there. Exactly I worked on that project for 3 hours continuously. It is so weird for I hit ctrl S quite often. And even the auto save didn't work as well. Is there any other way that I can try?
If Spine can't save, it should let you know and show something in the log. Please open your project, modify something, save it, and check the spine.log file in your Spine user folder. Also check that it really saved by opening the saved project file and checking what you modified.
Thank you but it seems that I should let it go and remake a new one. :tear:
