The Beginner Guide is more of an overview.
It's not very logical to give a guide of what tools are without showing an example.

So I have read what a bone, slot and image are. Next I want to see how they are attached.
I Can't find it and am trolling through third party youtubes to find that info.

Whe a concept is introduced it might be better to include a link, like adobe does, to how to
actually do that thing.

Thanks

It's true that the user guide is documentation about what everything does, not a tutorial. We have been working on tutorials for quite some time and when they are ready (soon!) they will take you from zero knowledge about Spine or animating to understanding the basics, then on to advanced topics.

Yes @Asterix, with this in mind we started to develop the video series of how to animate in Spine, starting from the absolute beginning and slowly covering Spine features with animation theory. The first lesson is practically done, I am just re-recording videos with the new Graph, so you can also see how to use the Graph for animation.

6 days later

I'm very much looking forward to this myself!
I've been using Spine for several years now and the proper use of some of tools still eludes me. From when the original beginner videos were made Spine has evolved a great deal and the videos made five years back are not as helpful anymore. It is a totally awesome tool. Thank you all so much for the hard work you put into making it great.
Erika has done amazing work on the Twitch channel and her insight into the use of some features especially the newer ones has been a vital learning tool for me. That said; when I'm under the gun to get a project done and you have a new feature that could save me a lot of time, having a concise step-by-step example of that tool or feature working in a project would be a godsend vs the challenge of sifting through either one or more streams to piece things together. I must say though that Erika is a sweetheart and her positive nature is infectious so, searching through her videos for specific pieces of information is always time well spent.

It should be said more often but, Thank you all again for all that you do to make this super amazing animation tool!

Thanks Marklar2323! I know it's a pretty big missing piece and the goal of the new video series is specifically to fill that gap. First video should be ready soon, ideally by the end of the week! No pressure! 😉
