• 2D animator featured by Spine

Hi Alessandro,

I know you found animator, but just in case you need another one in the future, please let me introduce myself:

I'm an energetic, hard-working, well-organized young(ish) 2D animator from Argentina, featured by Spine on their showcase (http://esotericsoftware.com/spine-showcase#one-eye-ant) and featured twice on Behance (https://www.behance.net/fedepuopolo).

I have experience working on motion graphics for artists like Katy Perry in After Effects, on digital campaigns in Flash for brands like Heineken, on skeletal animations in Spine2D for several games, and on experimental projects such as mapping on buldings or stop motion animations using just my camera, papers and scissors. For more information, you can visit my portfolio on Behance or my demo reel:

I don't know if this is important for you, but I have original licenses for Spine2D Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud CC and Houdini (I'm learning, not a pro... yet). so you're not going to have problems showing my work if we start working together. Besides, I'm an International Ambassador at GDC, I'm a TEDx organizer and I have experience doing work-for-hire and working on my own games on Unity.

It would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with you, so please let me know what do you think about my profile.

Thanks for your time.
Best,
Fede

Hi Fede,
thanks for getting in touch!

We actually already published and launched the product: Father and Son - Launch Trailer - App Store, Google Play - YouTube

Yet, I'm really not happy with the way our previous animator handled "basic" things like the walking animation cycle and run. We needed a perfect match between moving speed of the character and persistance of the feet on the ground, but got something very clunky. Sometime it seems to slide, other times anticipates the motion.
Also, masculine walk cycles do really not seem to differentiate from feminine ones.
That was a very cartoony approach, but we needed a more realistic one, possibly using Spine2D warps to give a subtle 3d-ish look to animations.

The show reel was really great and well made. Do you have another specifically for Spine2D, maybe with some more complex animations or realistic ones? I'd love to have a look if possible 🙂

We're planning an upgrade, if the director of the museum agrees with investing more funds on the project, and I would really love to have a more experienced animator than the previous one.

Best,
